Michaela graduated from the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague.  She is an excellent violinist, often giving concerts together with her father, prof. Ivan Štraus, and with various famous musicians (Miroslav Sekera and many more). She has been very active in promoting Czech music and art both in Czech Republic and abroad.  She is also in the management of Josef Suk´s company and works for the Bohuslav Martinů Foundation.  Michaela has been dedicating very intensively to teaching as well – she is an experienced and sought-after teacher with over 20 years of experience.  She is one of the founding members of ISMFA – cooperating since 1997.
